Student of SMK Iptek Cakung, Victims of Acid Attacks Suffer Serious Injuries to the Eyes

JAKARTA - MF (16), a student at SMK Iptek Jakarta, the victim of the acid attack is still undergoing intensive care at the Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Thursday, November 7. The victim is still lying with terrible eye conditions.

"Now the victim is still being treated at the Pondok Kopi hospital because his eyes are still being treated. We cannot yet confirm whether it is permanent or not, because it is still in the treatment stage," said Cakung Police Chief, Commissioner Panji Ali Candra to reporters.

However, the Police Chief has not been able to confirm whether the victim is blind or not because the victim is still undergoing treatment.

"Currently not blind. The victim suffered injuries to the head and eyes. Up until now he is still being treated at the Pondok Kopi Hospital," he said.

The victim suffered injuries from the acid attack on his face and right eye.

"His neck was also injured from being doused with acid," he said.

Previously reported, MF (16) a student of SMK Iptek Jakarta became the victim of an acid attack that occurred on Jalan Raya Pulogebang, in front of Assa Asulfalah Mosque, RT 03/06, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

The victim was suddenly doused with acid by the perpetrators who passed him on his way home from school and passed by the location of the incident. As a result of the incident, the victim's face was blistered, and injured his eyes and other parts of his face. The victim is threatened with blindness.

The victim was then assisted by residents, rushed to the Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital, East Jakarta, to receive intensive care. Meanwhile, the case was reported to the Cakung Police.

After receiving the report, the Cakung Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately conducted an investigation and hunted down the perpetrator based on CCTV footage and witness statements. Then, the three perpetrators of the acid attack on school students were successfully arrested by Buser members.

"Three perpetrators with the initials AF alias TM, FS alias F, and FT were successfully arrested. One adult with the initials TM was detained at the Cakung Police and the other two were ABH. Confiscated as evidence was a 1 liter clear glass bottle containing acid," said Cakung Police Chief, Commissioner Panji Ali Candra to reporters, Thursday, November 7.
