Asianet Introduces Unifiber, Fiber Optical-Based Connectivity Solution In Indonesia

JAKARTA - PT Asianet Media Teknologi (Asianet) introduced the Unifiber, a fiber To The Home (FTTH) product based on optical fiber technology designed to meet the needs of digital connectivity in Indonesia.

Through Unifiber, Asianet fully supports the Vision of Indonesia Digital 2045, where the government is committed to building infrastructure that supports the internet gigabit, strengthening digital literacy, and developing superior human resources (HR).

"We are preparing a business plan that recognizes that Indonesia's broadband demand will continue to grow and that growth will require an innovative approach to be sustainable," said Asianet President Director Prakash Ranjilkar, on Thursday, November 7 in Jakarta.

Asianet is committed to collaborating across sectors including the government, industry, and society to ensure the development of an inclusive digital ecosystem that strengthens global competitiveness.

At the same time, Asianet also inaugurated a world-class Network Operation Center (NOC) facility that is ready to meet the challenges of leading digital access needs, with advanced infrastructure support.

"Today, we are pleased to dedicate our world-class 24x7 network operations center that drives a very resilient and reliable network, resulting in the highest active time," Prakash continued.

Currently, Asianet operates a broad broadband network, extending more than 30,000 kilometers, with more than 1.5 million homepasses in 36 major cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Sleman, Surabaya, Denpasar and Medan.

Through this new NOC, Asianet has ambitions to expand its network several times quickly to 15 million homepasses, which will reach every corner of Indonesia.

"This growth aspiration reflects our commitment to contribute to national digitization goals by providing reliable, affordable, and high-quality services," he concluded.

Director of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Aju Widya Sari also appreciated the presence of Asianet and Unifiber to accelerate the penetration of internet services throughout Indonesia.

"Therefore, the presence of Asianet is very supportive to be able to provide one option of providing networks in addition to the provision carried out by other organizers," said Aju.
