PLN Inaugurates One Stop EV Charging Station Bandung City

PT PLN (Persero) inaugurated One Stop EV Charging Station at a strategic point in Bandung City, West Java (West Java) located on Jalan Surapati No.36.

One Stop EV Charging Station is a centralized charging infrastructure that supports all types of EVs from two to four wheels. At this location, PLN provides Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) for electric cars and Public Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU) as well as R2 General Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU R2) for electric motors.

Located in the center of Bandung City, One Stop EV Charging Station makes it easier for electric vehicle users to recharge in one location. While waiting for charging, people can take the time by doing activities with their families at nearby tourist sites, such as Gedung Sate, Gasibu Field, Geological Museum and Cisangkuy Culinary Center.

Director of PLN Distribution Adi Priyanto who was present inaugurated One Stop EV Charging Station_ said that accelerating electric vehicle infrastructure, especially West Java, would have a positive impact on creating Green Tourism, Green Infrastructure, and Zero Emission Zone.

"This step is part of an acceleration strategy to control air pollution and reduce dependence on fossil fuels," Adi said, quoted on Thursday, November 7.

Adi added, to support the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, strong collaboration between various parties such as the Government, BUMN, and the private sector.

"Of course this PLN is just a driver, which later will play a more important role in our hopes are entrepreneurs and the private sector who run a charging station business, so we support entrepreneurs to move in this field," added Adi.

General Manager of PLN West Java Distribution Main Unit Agung Murdifi explained that the operation of the One Stop EV Charging Station at Surapati provides easier and more comfortable access to charging vehicle batteries for the community.

"With massive infrastructure growth, we hope that people in West Java will be more confident in switching and be able to feel it directly easier to use electric vehicles," said Agung.

Through this One Stop EV Charging Station, PLN provides 5 EV Chager units, both Ultra Fast Charging and Medium Charging and 1 SPBKLU unit that can exchange 5 batteries, as well as 6 point stop contacts at SPKLU R2.

With the addition of One Stop EV Charging Station in Surapati, Bandung, Agung said that now there are a total of 183 SPKLU locations with 267 EV Chargers and 57 SPBKLU units in 26 cities/regencies of West Java.

The SPKLU location distribution points are located in strategic areas such as shopping centers, rest areas, PLN offices, public facilities, and others.

In addition, PLN through the PLN Mobile application has presented an EV Charging Station location search feature that will make it easier for the public to find the nearest SPKLU location to monitor charging status, to make practical and fast payments with only one application.

"This feature is a form of our commitment to improve the experience of users (customer experience) so that people are more confident in turning to environmentally friendly electric vehicles," explained Agung.
