Korea Masters 2024: Dejan/Glora To Quarter Finals

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja secured tickets to the quarter-finals of the Korea Masters 2024.

The second seed qualified after stopping the host representative Ki Dong-ju/Lee Yeon-woo with a score of 21-11, 8-21, and 21-16 on Thursday, November 7, 2024, noon WIB.

This was Dejan/Gloria's first win at the tournament because they got an empty draw in the first half.

"So, there was still a little adaptation to the field conditions, especially from the lighting. The field was uneven in light and the color of the stands was quite striking, a bit difficult to see the movement of the ball," said Dejan.

It is also the world's 12th ranked pair tournament after last appearing at the Macau Open 2024 at the end of September 2024.

At that time, they managed to reach the final round, but had to settle for being runners-up after losing against the Chinese pair, Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui.

"Preparatoryly, it is very good because we have approximately one month to practice in Jakarta before coming here," said Dejan.

Dejan/Gloria will next meet fifth seed from Thailand, Rutanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat.

The pair qualified for the quarter-finals of the BWF Super 300 level event after stopping the host's mixed doubles, Lee Sang-won/Kim Bo-ryeong.
