LRT Jakarta Phase 1B: Jakpro Fast Project That Sets MURI Record

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Phase 1B LRT construction project, which connects Velodrome with Manggarai, has scored extraordinary achievements in early November, exactly one year since it started. PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro, together with the Consortium (PT Waskita Karya Tbk, PT Nindya Karya, and PT Len Railway System), won MURI Record awards in two categories: The Fastest Kite Test' and The Construction Construction Construction Construction Construction of The Fastest LRT Station Structure.

The groundbreaking was carried out on October 30, 2023, followed by other important stages, including the lifting of the first girder on April 20, 2024. Girder, which is the main component for the Jakarta LRT track, was installed on Jalan Pemuda, Rawamangun, near Jakarta International Velodrome and Mall Arion. After installing the girder, the project continued with a two-girder link, followed by a slab deck job, a sleeper installation, and a rail track to form a sturdy train track.

Jakpro's commitment can be seen from the consistency of the project according to schedule without neglecting quality and security. This is reinforced by the trial of the first lane or test track from Velodrome Station to Rawamangun Station on Monday, September 30, 2024. The trial is carried out using the MRV (Maintenance Rail Vehicle) train to ensure that every technical aspect meets high safety standards.

The construction of the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT supports the vision of making Jakarta a competitive global city, with efficient, integrated, modern, and environmentally friendly public modes for the people of DKI Jakarta. The Phase 1B stage will add five new stations, namely Rawamangun Youth Station, BPKP Scouts, Pramuka Market, Matraman, and Manggarai, complementing six Phase 1A stations. With the connecting path from Pegangsaan Dua in Kelapa Gading to Manggarai along 12.2 km, the travel time is only 26 minutes, with a capacity of up to 80,000 passengers per day in stages.
