North Sumatra Police Arrest Robbery Gang In Deli Serdang

The Jatanras Team of the Directorate (Dit) of Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) arrested a gang of robbers who committed street crimes in Batang Kuis District, Deli Serdang Regency.

"The five perpetrators arrested were a man with the initials S (17), MAF (16), SP alias Bolang (17), ES alias T (20) and DPS (20)," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 6.

Hadi said the perpetrators' crime mode was by renting a car, then crossing the road by robbing the victim's motorbike and cellphone.

Then, the victim with the initials AP (19), a resident of Mandala, Medan City, which caused his hand to almost break, the perpetrators stabbed him on Arteri Sultan Serdang Street, Tumpatan Nibung Village, Batang Kuis District, Deli Serdang Regency, (30/10).

"After receiving this information, this street crime case was investigated and pursued by the perpetrators," said Hadi.

This pursuit was led by the Head of Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras, Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Police, Kompol Bayu Putra Samara, along with personnel.

"The police moved quickly to pursue the perpetrators who have been identified, five perpetrators can be arrested while hiding around the Lubuk Pakam area, Deli Serdang, Tuesday (5/11)," said Hadi.

Of the five perpetrators arrested, ES alias Tonyem must be given decisive action measured to be shot in the leg.

"Because he tried to fight back against the police when he was asked to show the hiding place of another perpetrator," said the former Biak Police Chief, Papua.

From the hands of the perpetrators, evidence was confiscated in the form of the victim's cellphone, the car used by the perpetrator during the action and two cellphones belonging to the perpetrator.

"The North Sumatra Police will continue to move to eradicate various public diseases and street crimes, the police will not hesitate to give measured crackdown in order to maintain public safety," said Hadi.
