West Java Police Dismantle The Practice Of Mixing Fake Wheat Flour Products
The West Java Regional Police (West Java Police) uncovered the practice of mixing fake flour products carried out by a perpetrator with the initials OS in the Cianjur Regency area.
Deputy Director of the Ditreskrimsus Polda West Java AKBP Maruli Pardede explained that the modus operandi carried out by the perpetrators was to buy low-quality flour, then repackage using well-known brand flour sacks, namely the Blue Triangle, to be sold at a higher price.
"Then the perpetrator replaced the sacks from the low quality flour with flour sacks from the Blue Triangle brand," said Maruly as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 6.
Maruly said the perpetrators obtained used packaging sacks from scavengers or collectors who collected sacks from various places, such as bakeries or cake shops.
"This empty sack was bought by the perpetrator at a price of around Rp. 3,000 per sheet, while the barcode label was purchased for Rp. 7 thousand," he said.
After getting used sacks and labels, the perpetrators moved low-quality wheat flour into the fake packaging of the Blue Triangle. In this way, the perpetrators can make a profit of between Rp. 30 thousand to Rp. 50,000 per sack.
The perpetrator is known to have carried out this practice for three years and distributed the product in West Java to the border of Central Java.
"The profit that has been obtained from data collection and deepening of investigators obtained by the perpetrators in a year operates amounting to Rp5.6 billion," he said.
According to him, the West Java Regional Police noted that the perpetrators were able to produce up to 4,800 sacks of fake flour per month with a total production of three years reaching 4,320 tons.
The police are still conducting further investigations into the alleged other perpetrators involved in the case of mixing flour.
"Even if we do find suspicion, please be able to report this to the nearest police station. We from investigators are still trying to trace allegations of other perpetrators who may be involved," he said.
For his actions, the perpetrators are subject to Article 100 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Brands with a penalty of 5 years imprisonment or a maximum fine of IDR 2 billion.
