Chairman Of The Supreme Court Reminds Judiciary Apparatus To Maintain Integrity
JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sunarto reminded all judicial apparatus, including judges, to strengthen their commitment to maintaining integrity, given the recent events of individual judges and former Supreme Court officials who were named suspects in alleged bribery and gratification.
"Once again, let us work together to strengthen our hearts to make the incident of nirritality the last by re-enhancing the judge's code of ethics and the code of ethics of the judiciary, and staying focused on working and carrying out trials in accordance with applicable procedural law in order to maintain integrity," said Sunarto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 6.
According to Sunarto, the first step that must be taken by all judicial apparatus is to maintain integrity from oneself, namely to always be honest, responsible, and consistent in the values that are believed even though there is temptation or pressure.
In addition, the Chairman of the Supreme Court also reminded his staff to take care of each other and remind each other, both in the family environment and in the work environment.
"We can take care of each other's colleagues not to be tempted by things that lead to acts of non-rignity. Together in goodness will make us stronger than the kindness that is done individually," said Sunarto.
Actions that do not show integrity, he added, do not only have an impact on each other, but also on the institution where they work. The reason is, public trust, especially justice seekers, can decrease if there are judicial personnel who have no integrity.
Therefore, Sunarto invites all judicial apparatus in Indonesia to work hand in hand and work smartly in regaining public trust in the Supreme Court. He believes that solidarity can strengthen the Supreme Court in dealing with recent events.
"Public trust cannot be achieved individually. It is built on the foundation of integrity, maintained with smart work, and tied with solidarity ties," said the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
This message was conveyed by Sunarto when opening the 13th Plenary Meeting of the Supreme Court Chamber in Bandung, West Java, Tuesday (5/11).
The meeting, which discussed the problems of each room in the Supreme Court, was attended by all leaders, Supreme Court judges, judges hoc, echelon I and II officials, as well as room assistants.
