Next Week, Commission III Of The DPR Will Call The National Police Headquarters To Discuss Online Gambling
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni, said that his party would invite the National Police Headquarters to a working meeting to discuss online gambling issues (Judol) next week.
The summons of partners was carried out to ask for the seriousness of the National Police Chief in efforts to eradicate the judol mafia.
"Next week we will have a meeting with the National Police Headquarters. We will also convey the seriousness of the National Police Chief to do what is happening now in judol," said Sahroni during a working meeting with the Financial Analysis and Transaction Center (PPATK) at the DPR Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 6.
However, Sahroni has not been able to confirm when the time will be scheduled for the meeting with the National Police Chief. He hopes that the National Police Headquarters can coordinate with PPATK in handling this case.
Sahroni admitted that he was surprised by the explanation from the PPATK regarding judol transactions, which continued to increase. Even judol transactions at the end of 2024 are predicted to reach IDR 400 trillion.
"If it was Rp400 trillion and even the highest level, it was seen as super powerful," said Sahroni.
Previously, the Head of PPATK, Ivan Yustiavandana, said that the development of online gambling this year tends to increase compared to the previous year. In fact, the figure has reached hundreds of trillions of rupiah.
"We see the current development of online gambling that there is a tendency to increase compared to the previous period. If we talk about this in 2023, the circulation of online gambling funds per semester 1 alone has touched Rp174 trillion, now it is in the second semester of PPATK seeing that it has reached Rp283 trillion," Ivan said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 6.
"In 2024, the first semester alone has exceeded the number of transactions in the middle of the 2023 semester or more than one full year in 2022. This means that there is a tendency to increase to 237.48 percent," he added.

According to Ivan, the increase in transactions occurred because online bookies also made transactions with small numbers. "In the past, the city's account could have a high number, now it is broken with a small number," he said.
