PDIP: Police Don't Obey President Prabowo About Simultaneous Pilkada

The PDI-P considers the National Police to be disobedient to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada) process without any intervention.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Ronny Talapessy. According to him, in the current Pilkada process, there are still irregularities between the civil servants (ASN) and the National Police in several areas.

In fact, President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he will not intervene in the process of contesting regional head elections.

"However, the facts obtained in the field are that these members of the National Police are not subject to instructions from President Prabowo," said Ronny in a discussion entitled "Democracy" which was eroded after post-Reformation 98, Residu Rezim Jokowi Cawe-Cawe MK, 2024 General Election and 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections, in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 6.

"What does that mean? This means that friends of the National Police, in this case, do not obey what President Prabowo said in the simultaneous regional elections process," he continued.

For example, the neutrality of members of the National Police occurred in Boyolali, Central Java. According to him, it was found that the facts had even been decided by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) that there was intervention carried out by three police officers.

They directed them to provide support to one of the candidate pairs (paslon) who ran in the Boyolali Pilkada.

"Some areas of Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Papua, we get facts that there is an neutrality of friends from the police," he said.

Therefore, the PDI-P recommended to the National Police to immediately take action by removing the leadership of the National Police at the regional level or the Regional Police Chief.

This is because it is considered unable to maintain the value of democracy in the implementation of simultaneous regional elections.

"We, from the PDIP, of course, recommend that, for example, the North Sumatra Police Chief or the Central Java Police Chief, be removed, it is evaluated. Because if this is allowed to be more like this, it will certainly damage the democracy that we are living together," said Ronny.
