Willem Wandik-Aloyius Giyai Unggungli Other Paslon In The Latest Survey Of Central Papua Pilkada
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Voice Laboratory (LSI) released the results of the latest survey ahead of the 2024 Central Papua Regional Head Election (Pilkada). As a result, the Willem Wandik-Aloyius Giyai pair managed to outperform three other pairs of candidates who fought in the Central Papua gubernatorial election.
"In this survey, the candidate pair (paslon) for governor Willem Wandik-Aloysius Giyai showed a significant advantage with electability which now reaches 69.1 percent, up 5 percent compared to the previous survey," said LSI Executive Director Albertus Dino in his statement, Wednesday, November 6.
Dino explained that the results of the latest LSI survey showed that the Willem Wandik-Aloysius Giyai pair excelled in Mimika and Nabire Regencies with 69.1 percent electability. Meanwhile, the Natalis Tabuni-Titus Natkime pair was in second place with 12.9 percent.
While the third position is occupied by the Meki Nawipa-Denas Geley pair with 9.1 percent. Followed by the John Wempi Wetipo-Agustinus Anggaibak pair in the last position with 5.8 percent.
"As many as 8.1 percent of respondents chose not to vote," continued Dino.
Dino said this survey also includes the use of a noken system in six districts of Puncak Jaya, Intan Jaya, Deyai, Dogiyai, Puncak, and Paniai. This system gives authority to the head or leader of the tribe to make choices in the election.
The survey results show that the Wandik-Giyai pair received 67.9 percent support from tribal leaders, followed by the Tabuni-Natkime pair 10.3 percent, Nawipa-Geley 5.9 percent, and Wetipo-Anggaibak 3.4 percent.
"A total of 12.5 percent of tribal leaders are still keeping their choices a secret," said Dino.
Dino said the survey also measured the level of public trust in the four pairs of candidates. As a result, the Wandik-Giyai pair achieved a high score of 92.9 percent. The Tabuni-Natkime pair received 53.1 percent, Nawipa-Geley 49.8 percent, and Wetipo-Anggaibak 40.9 percent.
"In addition, 77.9 percent of the people of Central Papua strongly consider the track record and experience of candidates in leading and achieving in the government sector," said Dino.
Dino said, from the survey results it was known that the people of Central Papua hoped that the Willem Wandik-Aloysius Giyai pair would lead this province by focusing on meeting the basic needs of the people.
"Such as protecting human rights (HAM), guaranteeing legal certainty, security, health, education, and quality public services," he concluded.

The LSI survey was conducted in the period from 28 October-5 November 2024 using the open question method to the people of Central Papua who were selected as respondents. They were asked to give opinions about the four pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor.
This survey involved 1,480 respondents who were chosen proportionally from the final voter list (DPT) of the 2024 General Election, with a margin of error of 2.55 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
