Self-Defense Firearm Holders Expected To Understand Safety Procedures
JAKARTA - The Association for Owners of Special Permits for Indonesian Self-Defense Firearms (PERIKHSA) continues to carry out work programs to provide information related to martial arts firearms.
As is known, the concern of PERIKHSA DPP is for firearms owners who do not routine exercise and do not understand safety procedures when holding firearms.
"We hope that all martial arts firearms holders can train safely. And it is better to join the DPP or DPD PERIKHSA according to their respective domiciles", said Nicolas Kesuma, Public Relations of the PERIKHSA DPP after a meeting with administrators in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Nico also explained that PERIKHSA always holds routine exercises for its members every week at the shooting range.
Quoting the statement of the General Chairperson of PERIKHSA Bambang Soesatyo, in an effort to protect themselves, the public is allowed to own firearms with strict conditions. The possession of firearms is specifically for self-defense and not for replacing the functions and duties of law enforcement officers.
From the legal aspect, Article 28G of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia guarantees that everyone has the right to personal, family, honor, dignity and property protection under his control, and is entitled to a sense of security and protection from the threat of fear to do or not do something that is a human right.
