The 8/SMG Yonzipur Task Force Again Failed To Smuggle Alcohol At The Border

In the latest sweeping operation, the Yonzipur 8/SMG Task Force thwarted efforts to smuggle liquor (alcohol) from Malaysia to Indonesia in the RI-Malaysia border area.

Dansatgas Yonzipur 8/SMG, Lt. Col. Czi Imam Subekti said the operation carried out in Sesua Village, Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan (Kaltara) yielded results by finding and confiscating 475 bottles of illegal alcohol.

"This operation is part of the ongoing efforts of the Yonzipur 8/SMG Task Force to maintain security and order in the border area," said Imam Subekti, Tuesday, November 5.

The smuggling failure occurred when Pos Kotis personnel carried out routine sweeping in Sesua village on Monday, November 4 evening led by Lt. Inf Amiruddin.

"Furthermore, at 21.25 WITA there was a Honda Mobilio that passed and was immediately dismissed by the task force personnel, Sergeant Sukandi and several personnel who were involved in the activity at that time," he added.

During the inspection of the vehicle, the team saw that there were foreign objects stored in black plastic.

"What was checked turned out to contain 475 alcohol Huster brands from Malaysia that were about to be smuggled into Indonesia, without further ado The evidence was immediately secured and then reported in stages to the top command," said Imam.

This success is referred to as the TNI's commitment to continue to guard the border from all forms of smuggling threats.
