Police Arrest 3 Perpetrators Of TIP 28 CPMI Non-Procedural Via Soetta Airport

TANGERANG - Police arrested three perpetrators suspected of being involved in the criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO) to Asia and Europe. It is KA (24) a resident of Tangerang Regency, Banten, AD (24) and AT (33) a resident of Sampang Regency, East Java.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Soetta Airport Police, Kompol Reza Fahlevi, said there were 28 Non-Procedural Indonedia Migrare Workers Candidates (CPMI) that his party could prevent when they were about to depart with several final destinations through Soetta Airport from October 14 to November 4.

"Overall, the Airport Police Criminal Investigation Unit has succeeded in preventing 28 non-procedural CPMIs with several objectives and successfully securing three suspects," Reza told reporters at the Soetta Airport Police, Tuesday, November 5.

"The final goal of placing Candidates for Indonesian Migrant Workers (CPMI) includes Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Serbia, Qatar, Vietnam and Brunei," he continued.

Reza explained that the suspects shared their roles to carry out their actions. One of them is the role of KA, namely as a person who takes care of administrative requirements for potential victims.

"Then AD as the driver who took the victim to the airport and AT acted as the person who ordered the victim's ticket and delivered it to Singapore," he said.

Reza also revealed that the chronology series in the disclosure of the TIP case began with the suspicion of security officers against one of the prospective Indonesian citizens who were about to go abroad.

Then, on that basis, his party conducted an examination and investigation of the prospective passenger. As a result, the facts were obtained that he would work non-procedurally.

"On Thursday, October 31, 2024, at around 10:00 WIB, the Soetta Airport Police Satreskrim picket received information on the alleged departure of a Non-Procedural Indonesian Migrant Worker Candidate (CPMI) who will depart for the Qatar State Middle East Area via Singapore using the Batik Air ID 7151 Jakarta (CGK) Singapore (SIN) aircraft at 12.30 WIB via the 2F Terminal of Soekarno Hatta Airport International Departure," he explained.

Furthermore, after learning of the TIP, the investigative team immediately coordinated with BP2MI to carry out an investigation to investigate further. As a result, the three perpetrators could be arrested.

The perpetrators have been named as suspects. They were charged with Article 83 in conjunction with Article 68 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Crime of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, Article 4 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2007 concerning Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons and Article 69.

"The maximum imprisonment is 10 years and the maximum fine is IDR 15 billion," he concluded.
