Dybala Called Ronaldo Hated In Argentina
JAKARTA - Paulo Dybala revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is not very popular in Argentina. The Portuguese megastar is even hated by the people of Evita Peron's country.
Dybala and Ronaldo have a good relationship during the last two seasons at Juventus. They became a deadly duet in Serie A. Now, the former Palermo player uncovers a fact previously unknown to Ronaldo.
"I said to him: Cristiano, in Argentina, we hate you a little bit because of who you are, because of how you are, how you walk," Dybala said in an online interview with the Argentine Football Association (AFE). Launching MARCA, Thursday, April 2.
"But the fact is, you surprised me because I found you who are completely different (from the assessment of the other Argentines)."
Dybala also plays alongside Lionel Messi in the Argentina national team. However, their relationship both on and off the field is not very good, because Dybala is often Messi's coating.
Dybala has also come under fire for criticizing Messi, stating that it was difficult to play alongside him in the national team last summer.
"I never meant to criticize my team-mates, I just wanted to fix something that was going on," Dybala said.
"I talked about it with Leo because we are both very similar tactically.
"I don't have many minutes to play in the World Cup or Copa America but, at the same time, I always respect the coach's decisions because Argentina are a great team."
The Juventus forward also talked about his experience of suffering from COVID-19 or the corona virus after testing positive in a test carried out in March.
"I cough a lot, I'm tired and I feel cold when I sleep at night," he said.
"It's a bit [difficult] to live with this condition and try not to give up, to relax, try to stay calm and always consult the Juventus doctor."
