Minister Karding's Message For 429 PMIs When Going To South Korea: I Quoted To Protect This Country, Don't Give Space For Exploitation
JAKARTA - Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers/Head of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding advised PMIs to show good morals. For Karding, PMI is the nation's ambassador as well as the state's ambassador.
Karding emphasized this when he first released 429 PMI Program G to G South Korea at the eL Hotel Royale, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Monday, November 4.
"Adik-adik not only work, but also become our nation's ambassador, our country's ambassador. We must show that Indonesia has good morals, good attitude, high discipline, good work ethic. Brothers should not only be called foreign exchange heroes but also our cultural ambassador to Korea," said Karding.
Arriving in South Korea, PMI must take care of itself and attitude. If the attitude is good then it opens up greater opportunities for future generations to work in South Korea.
"Please take care of your attitude, morals, because if your younger siblings there have bad behavior, our imager is not good, so pity the next generation. The quota must be reduced. I entrust that we must protect this country, and do not give space for younger siblings to be exploited. Anything will happen immediately report it," he added.
Deputy Minister for Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Deputy Head of BP2MI, Christina Aryani, requested that PMIs register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What needs to be understood is to register yourself. There is a Ministry of Foreign Affairs there where they are tasked with managing, protecting Indonesian citizens while abroad. Register through the Indonesian Citizen Care application, then record the representative call center there so that protection can be given," Christina's message.
Christina added, so that migrant workers can comply with the laws and regulations that apply in the placement country.
