Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Forms 7 Cross-Ministry/Institution Desks, Will Regulate Regional Elections to Online Gambling
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan or BG has formed seven desks involving ministries and institutions. Some handle regional head elections and handling online gambling.
This was conveyed by Budi after holding a Ministerial Coordination Meeting today, Monday, November 4.
"We from the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs and related agencies have just held a coordination meeting to follow up on the President's direction regarding the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto's government," said Budi in a press conference at the Kemenko Polkam Office, Jakarta.
"There are seven desks that have been prepared, formed with leading sectors from each ministry and institution that include," he continued.
Budi then explained that the regional election desk will later be led by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri). "Then the smuggling desk or prevention of smuggling is the leading sector from the Ministry of Polkam," said the former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
Furthermore, there is also a desk related to the eradication of narcotics and a desk related to handling online gambling. The Chief of Police will later act as the leader.
Then, Budi also explained that there is also a coordination desk for increasing state foreign exchange earnings and preventing corruption and improving governance. "With the leading sector being the Attorney General," he explained.
"Finally, the seventh is the cybersecurity and data protection desk with the leading sector being the Ministry of Communication and Digital together with BSSN," said Budi.
Budi said that the desk that was formed is expected to strengthen the movement of ministries and institutions. In addition, stability in the political and security fields is also expected to occur.
"So that our economy grows, our GDP also increases and ultimately the realization of public welfare," he concluded.
