Minister Of Law: Public Services Run Ordinary Despite Transition Period

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said, although the Ministry of Law is currently carrying out a transition after the new nomenclature, all services to the public continue as usual.

"We are targeting that by June 2025 it can be completed by a transition period for both regulatory personnel and others," Supratman said during a Commission XIII Working Meeting with the Ministry of Law in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, November 4.

According to him, the transition team continues to work to divide tasks, human resources or human resources (HR), assets, and others that were previously in one ministry, namely the Ministry of Law and Human Rights due to the new nomenclature.

Supratman said that President Prabowo Subianto's new nomenclature had divided the Ministry of Law and Human Rights into three, namely the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Human Rights, and the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

Minister Supratman ensured that although currently in transition, services to the public could still be carried out properly.

"Even though there is a transition period, all public services are still running as usual," he said.

He added that before being divided into three ministries, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights became the ministry with the second largest human resources after the Ministry of Finance.

"The ministry is very fat, the ministry has the most in terms of human resources number two after the ministry of finance before we were separated there were 65 thousand number of employees," he explained.

Minister Supratman is optimistic that during this transition period it can run well, and is expected to be a pilot by other ministries.

"Now we have formed a transition team to become a pilot for other ministries," he said.

Currently, Commission XIII of the DPR RI is holding a Working Meeting with the Ministry of Law, and this is the first meeting after the ministry was broken down.
