JAKARTA - After entering the Hong Kong, Cambodia and Singapore markets, the premium brand BYD, namely Denza, officially entered the Thai market by launching the D9 electric Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV).

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Monday, November 4, the Chinese brand launched the Premium version of D9, and the AWD Premium, with prices of 1,999,900 baths and 2,699,990 baht or the range of Rp933 million to Rp1.2 billion.

The all-electric MPV D9 which will be available in Thailand has a length dimension of 5,250 mm, a width of 1,960 mm, a height of 1,920 mm with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. In design, the model is very premium and offers a luxurious impression.

Denza D9 has a maximum power of up to 275 kW and 368 hp, and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hour in 6.9 seconds.

"The Premium-AWD version has a range of up to 580 kilometers of NEDC for urban travel and long-distance travel," the company said.

Not only launching the D9 model, but Denza has also set up five exhibition rooms in Thailand's main territory, and will reach 10 more showrooms by the end of this year.

"ByD has achieved several achievements in Thailand this year, including the opening of its plant, and the introduction of the Denza brand is another important strategic step for companies in the Thai market," said Liu Xueliang, General Manager of the Asia-Pacific BYD car sales Division.

The presence of BYD Denza D9 in Thailand is certainly a breath of fresh air for Indonesia, considering the closer the model is to Indonesia.

Denza D9 itself was previously introduced by BYD in Indonesia, at that time at the IIMS 2024 event in February, the model was only exhibited. Will Indonesia be the next market?

Previously, PT BYD Motor Indonesia's Head of Marketing Communication Luther Panjaitan had revealed that the manufacturer would fill all existing segments. Most likely the premium segment will be filled by MPV Listrik Denza.
