Police Name Reckless Truck Driver in Tangerang as Suspect
JAKARTA - The police have named a driver with the initials JFN (24) who drove a reckless truck in Tangerang City as a suspect. This happened after a case conference was held on Saturday, November 2, yesterday.
"We have sufficient evidence to name the Wing Box Truck Driver as a suspect," said Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Zain Dwi Nugroho, Sunday, November 3.
Zain said JFN was charged with Article 311 paragraph (2) and (4) in conjunction with Article 312 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation.
"The threat of 10 years in prison and/or a fine of IDR 20 million," he said.
Previously, from the results of a laboratory examination of JFN's urine, it was declared positive for drugs, the type of methamphetamine.
"The lab results are like that (positive), so this is very dangerous, driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs," said Zain.
Whatever the chronology of the incident, it began with a Wing Box truck driven by suspect JFN coming from Cikokol towards Cipondoh and hitting the rear bumper of a Suzuki Ertiga car that was stopped at the Traffic Light (TL) towards Kodim.
Because he was panicking and under the influence of drugs, the suspect fled towards Cipondoh and was chased by a number of residents to Jalan KH. Hasyim Ashari and hit a motorcyclist again, then fled towards Nerogtog, Graha Raya, Banjar Wijaya, returned to KH Hasyim Ashari Street, and was finally stopped at the Adipura monument roundabout on Veteran Street. Until JFN was attacked by an angry mob.
