PDIP Express Research Support And Applications For Herbal Plants To Treat Cancer
JAKARTA - The PDI-P (PDIP) DPP affirms its support for research and applications of herbal medicines in preventing and overcoming tumors and cancers.
It is hoped that with these efforts, all Indonesian people will progress and prosper with a healthy body, soul, and mind.
The PDIP commitment was conveyed by the Secretary General of the PDIP DPP Hasto Kristiyanto when opening a daily seminar on the health of Indonesian cancer in collaboration with the Nusantara Cancer Development Foundation (YBKN) at the PDIP DPP head office, Jakarta, Saturday.
"This event is in line with the direction of the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the National Research and Innovation Agency or BRIN, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, who wants Indonesia to be sovereign in the health sector," said Hasto, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, November 2.
Meanwhile, Hasto was present with the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Health, Ribka Tjiptaning. The activity was carried out in a hybrid manner, with the presence of the General Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri, hundreds of representatives of DPC and PDIP administrators from all over Indonesia and several members of the DPR RI, one of whom was Tubagus Hasanuddin.
"Ibu Mega always reminds me that politics is not just an election matter, but a matter of life, how do we overcome people's illness by encouraging healthy life," continued Hasto.
Megawati, said Hasto, also consistently asked researchers at BRIN to record Indonesian nutfah plasma. The goal is to strengthen data on Indonesian natural resources, but also so that research and applications of their properties can be utilized.
"Including herbal plants that can prevent and treat cancer," said Hasto.
When the event started, Indonesia Raya sang three stanza. This became a discussion by Hasto in his speech. According to him, the commitment of the General Chairperson Megawati and PDIP was motivated by various mandates interpreted by the national anthem.
For example, Hasto quoted the lyrics at the second stanza as saying "Indonesia is young and rich". According to Hasto, the fertile land of Indonesia allows the Indonesian people to plant trees with herbal properties.
" Fertilize the land and its soul. It is hoped that the soil will fertile, its soul, its people, not its fertile family. Another message, be aware of its heart and gratitude to Indonesia Raya. Those who forget the dignity of power are usually unaware of the heart and are not aware of gratitude. So this counseling is very important so that the fertile land of Indonesia is used to plant herbal plants that are efficacious in dealing with cancer," he said.
From the song Indonesia Raya, continued Hasto, there is also the task of protecting Indonesia's bloodshed, including from various diseases so that general welfare can be realized.
"Promoting public welfare. How? General welfare does not mean going to America to buy bread for Rp. 400 thousand, but welfare with a healthy lifestyle, a clean soul. That's the general welfare we stand for," said Hasto.

Hasto said the PDIP DPP also prayed for cancer sufferers to continue to struggle and build enthusiasm to recover. He also shared his experience of experiencing COVID-19. For him, the spirit to stay alive and recover will greatly help the healing process.
He continued that the PDIP DPP will immediately order its cadres who sit as regional heads and in the legislature to be actively involved, namely in the socialization campaign for the use of herbal plants to prevent and treat cancer.
"Hopefully the Indonesian people can prevent cancer early. Those who are suffering, we give the spirit that it can be cured with a combination of medicine, fighting spirit, and happy life, so that the perfect Indonesian people can be done," said Hasto.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Health, Ribka Tjiptaning, said that the seminar was carried out after the Health Sovereignty Forum was declared. The forum has moved to advocate for people who have difficulty going to doctors or people who go to the hospital, but is not served properly.
"This is the embodiment of Megawati Soekarnoputri's order, Mrs. Mega always says to help people, don't look at her background, including political differences. Anyone, if necessary, please help them immediately," said Ribka.
According to Ribka, the seminar began with a request from YBKN for PDIP to be involved in campaigning for cancer treatment through herbal plants. PDIP considers this step important considering that based on data, 135 per 100 thousand Indonesians suffer from cancer.
"We are number eight in Southeast Asia. Spending the budget alone on cancer alone is Rp. 3.5 trillion just to treat cancer. In fact, many diseases must be overcome. So we encourage the foundation's cooperation with PDIP to help cure cancer patients," said Ribka.
