Manchester United 1-0 Manchester United: What's Impossible
JAKARTA - Granada coach Diego Martinez insists his team are undaunted by the huge reputation their opponents had in the Europa League quarter-finals, Manchester United.
Instead of trepidation, Martinez declared MU's status to be the fuel of his team when they hosted the Red Devils in the first leg at Nuevo Los Carmenes on Thursday local time.
"If we think too much about United, we may not perform as expected when we play," Martinez was reported by Antara on UEFA's official website on Thursday.
"We face giants. So far, doing the same keeps us motivated to bring out our full capabilities and perform as a team," he added.
Martinez believes with at least 180 minutes of quarter-final play there is a lot that can happen and he insists nothing is impossible.
"For 180 minutes and as much extra time as possible, anything can happen. The fact that I'm talking here, today, is because this team continues to prove that the impossible can happen," he concluded.
This season was Granada's debut in European club competition and they qualified as Europa League Group E runners-up and created a surprise by eliminating Napoli from the round of 32 before passing FK Molde to the quarter-finals.
