Malaysian MotoGP Qualification 2024: Bagnaia Pole Position
JAKARTA Ducati, who is the defending champion, Francesco Bagnaia, has performed outstanding in the MotoGP Moto Prix Malaysian qualification to lock up pole position.
The Italian rider completed the session with a time of 1 minute 56.377 seconds or 0.216 seconds ahead of his rival Jorge Martin at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
The pole position itself race session went so fierce between Bagnaia and Martin, the two remaining riders in the race for champion this season. Both of them appeared to insist on each other in order to be the fastest during qualifying.
Meanwhile, the third position was claimed by Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP), ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) and his older brother, Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP).
Starting from this future position makes Bagnaia now have hope to continue the competition for the title with Martin the same in the final series later.
Currently Bagnaia sits in second place in the drivers' standings or right behind Martin who fills the first position. Both are 17 points apart and Martin has a chance to win in Malaysia.
To be able to continue the competition until the last series, Bagnaia must at least win the Sprint Race and Race sessions later. If successful in doing that, he will automatically cut the points between them.
With one series remaining, both are predicted to hunt for titles to the final Grand Prix later in Valencia, but have now been canceled and are looking for a replacement option.
