Foreign Minister Choe Ensures North Korea Remains Behind Russia Until Victory In Ukraine

JAKARTA - North Korea will remain next to Russia to victory in the war in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui said while speaking with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow Friday.

"Our traditional relationship and friendship that has gone through a proven history path, today has increased to a new level of unbeaten military friendly relations," he told Lavrov, praising the role played by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin in this regard. November 1st.

He further said Pyongyang had no doubts under Putin's "wise leadership", the Russian army and people would "reach a great victory in the struggle to protect the sovereign rights and security interests of their country."

"And we also ensure that until the day of victory we will stand firm alongside our Russian friends," he said.

While welcoming him, Lavrov spoke of "very close relations" between the militaries of the two countries and said this allowed them to complete important security tasks together.

"We are very grateful to our Korean friends for their principled position on the events that are now taking place in Ukraine as a result of the Western action that brought NATO to the east and publicly prompted the racist regime to destroy all Russian-based things," Foreign Minister Lavrov said.

"A very close contact has been established between the military of the two countries and along the route of security services, this also allows us to complete tasks that are practically significant and important for the safety of our citizens and you," he added.

Foreign Minister Choe said the two countries needed to continue to strengthen their ties under an agreement signed by their leaders in June, which includes a joint defense clause.
