Afgan Gets American Singer Thuy For Single Criminal (Over You)

JAKARTA - Afgan is back with the next single from the album Sonder. He chose the song Criminal (Over You) which also featured the singer R&B Amerika Serikat, thy under the label Empire.

Afgan and th'y's soulful voice shines in this single whose video clip tells about the pain that comes when we feel lost.

The video clip 'Criminal' (Over You) is full of regrets and various emotions that come when we disappoint someone. Set in a dark empty factory, complete with moody nuances, Afgan's latest video clip is recorded in two different places which further strengthens the analogy around the distance and inequality discussed in this song.

The scenes featuring Afgan were recorded in Indonesia, while the scenes of th'y were recorded in Los Angeles, United States.

th y is absolutely extraordinary. He became part of this song in the final process of making and he made this song sound more beautiful. I really couldn't believe it when I first heard the final result. His voice fits perfectly with this song and I am very grateful that thy is willing to collaborate on this song," Afgan said in a written broadcast received by VOI, November 1.

In this video clip, I and my collaborators who directed my latest music videos made a mysterious world that represents my artistic vision. The shooting process in two different places shows how it feels as two people get further apart. We use a monitor to present thy which is a symbolism of the emotional distance between the characters we play in this song, which should be a pair of lovers," Afgan continued.

Afgan's team, who initially told me to collaborate and I have always liked Afgan's music. I immediately agreed with that invitation after I listened to the song! When his team sent creative ideas to me and my parents, I immediately thought about the styling aspect and I really liked the final result. Our team collaborated very well. This song is very close to people who are in a relationship who are always bringing them back together. I really like the music production side of this song and in terms of writing it too. It's really a fun collaboration for me, "said th'y.

Afgan's EP 'Sunder' was recorded in London, England and was the most ambitious and personal musical work of him. Afgan, who started his career at the age of 18, feels he has finally found his identity in EP "Sunder." I've gone through a lot and have grown up and learned a lot from the many experiences in my life, "said Afgan.

The stories that Afgan shared at EP Sunder present two world-wide Asian female musicians, namely thy in the song Criminal (Over You) and K-Pop musician Jessi, in the song Escape. The five songs he presented at the EP Sunder became Afgan's momentum to open up through the lyrics he wrote and sang as he slowly transformed into a musician who was increasingly connected to his music lovers from many sides.
