Increase HR To Create Competitiveness, Suzuki Collaborates With 111 Teachers 87 Vocational Schools In Indonesia

JAKARTA - PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) has an unusual way to deal with an increasingly competitive era of globalization, and what Suzuki does through the education sector.

This time Suzuki collaborated with 111 teachers from 87 Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia from various regions such as DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Lampung, to Jambi, by doing so through Corporate Social Responsibility activities, especially in the field of education, including through the assistance of the Vocational program that had just been implemented.

This collaboration has been carried out for the last 9 years, with the hope of creating synergies between the world of education and the automotive industry. In the midst of technological developments and changes in the work market, practical skills and knowledge related to manufacturing are very important.

"We believe that vocational is the key to creating quality human resources to face future challenges," said Department Head of Strategic Planning of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) Joshi Prasetya, in an official statement received, Friday, November 1.

He further said, by increasing the ability of the younger generation, Suzuki would not only strengthen the local economy, but also build a solid foundation towards national growth.

One of Suzuki Indonesia's efforts to overcome the inequality of vocational student skills is to hold the 'Suzuki Product and Technology Training & Suzuki Plant Tour for Vocal School Teacher' program.

The program invites SMK Mitra teachers to visit the Suzuki Cikarang factory, from September 30 to October 8, 2024. The visit of the teaching staff aims to provide direct insight into the knowledge of raw materials, the process of component production, to complete vehicles and updating the latest technological knowledge of the automotive industry. After obtaining the presentation, it is hoped that all participants can integrate knowledge into teaching and learning materials, so that it can have an impact on improving student competence.

Assistant Aftersales Department Head of Service of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) who was involved, added, Hariadi, said that through this program, Suzuki Indonesia hopes to create competent teaching staff in understanding the latest technology, especially Suzuki's to overcome the gap between education and the world of work, as well as produce favorable synergies for both parties.
