Google Will Launch Android 16 In Q2 2025

JAKARTA - Android 15 just arrived for the Pixel device earlier this month. However, Google has announced that it will release Android 16 around Q2 in 2025.

Not only that, Google also said that they would release a second update for the latest Android version in Q4 with a new API.

However, Google says the update won't require its developers to rebuild their apps and that support isn't needed. That is, the update won't affect the app significantly.

"We are planning a major release for Q2, not Q3, to better suit the device launch schedule across our ecosystem, so more devices can get Android's main releases faster," said Matthew McCulough, Vice President, Product Management, Android Developer in a blog post.

As usual, when Android 16 launches, Google will first conduct beta trials to some users on Pixel devices, while requesting feedback for that version.

"Our goal is to enable faster innovation and higher quality and refinement levels across releases, without causing more added costs for developers," he continued.
