Women's Representation At The Top Of SOE Leadership, Erick Thohir: I Ask For 2021 To Reach 15 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) targets 15 percent representation of women in the board of directors of SOEs can be realized by 2021. Currently, the representation of women is still 11 percent.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir said women's leadership in red-plate companies was important in the transformation of SOEs. In fact, the representation of women becomes one of the elements of its assessment of the performance of SOEs.

If the 15 percent percentage of female representation in the board of directors and commissioners of state companies this year can be realized, said Erick, by 2023 there will be 20 percent of the availability of female leadership.

"When we talk about female leadership. Now it is still 11 percent, I ask that this year can reach 15 percent, and in 2023 to 20 percent for women's leadership," she said in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 7.

Not only women, the target is also focused on the directors of SOEs that come from among easy children or millennials. Currently, from the number of directors of SOEs, the representation of young people is still 4 percent. This year, Erick targets to reach 5 percent.

"Leadership to the easy leadership of SOEs, which is now the number, in the board of directors is still 4 percent who are under the age of 42 years. We expect this year to be 5 percent," he said.

To achieve the target, said Erick, the Ministry of SOEs will conduct a leadership forum training. Where, this activity is focused on leadership training aimed at training the prospective management of SOEs from both millennials and women.

Currently, the management of the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) of the Ministry of SOEs has been ratified. Through this container, the development of human capital or human capital of prospective leaders of SOEs is carried out.

"And this is there is its own leadership training. It can't be generalized. How women's leadership is also as we know, these women are strong, not only economically active, but can also educate children. This is what I think, this leadership also trainings must change," he explained.
