Eri Cahyadi Wants Abdi Yasa Teladan Surabaya To Be An Example Of Driving Society
SURABAYA - The Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, opened the election of Abdi Yasa Teladan 2021 city level at the Intermoda Joyoboyo Terminal (TIJ).
This election is to increase awareness of transportation drivers orderly traffic, so it is expected to be able to realize safety, order, smoothness and provide good service to users of transportation services.
Eri Cahyadi in his speech said if the driver or driver in Surabaya is orderly in driving, then the congestion will not happen. Therefore, he wants this Abdi Yasa Teladan in the future to be an example for other Surabaya residents.
"That's why I hope very well to panjenengan (you) everything. Panjenengan should be able to set an example, can be an example for the people of Surabaya," said Eri Cahyadi, Wednesday, March 7.
Eri Cahyadi explained that currently almost all business sectors in Surabaya are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the transportation sector that impacts the income of drivers or drivers. Therefore, the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) strives for drivers to earn a decent income every month.
"I told Mr. Irvan (Head of Surabaya Dishub), the driver in Surabaya is how many people have KTP Surabaya. We can see how much he's earning. From there, we can range. So that we can help how much, we will calculate," he continued.
Eri Cahyadi instructed Dishub Surabaya to record the number of drivers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. For him, the government must always be present in the community in need.
"The city government must be sensitive by providing assistance. Because, my program, the family income must be in accordance with the UMK (City Minimum Wage). If there is a big activity, maybe we divert it there first," he explained.
According to him, The Local Revenue (PAD) of Surabaya city comes from taxes paid by the community. Of course this PAD should also be able to benefit the people of Surabaya, but PAD has declined since the pandemic. Therefore, Eri Cahyadi wants the utilization of pad is prioritized to improve the welfare of citizens.
"Let the pandemic pass first. Government tirakat, the project is reduced. What can we give to our citizens first. Fainsya Allah, after the pandemic ends (project) we walk," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Head of Surabaya Dishub, Irvan Wahyudrajad, hopes that the election of Abdi Yasa Teladan can have an impact on order on the road. Abdi Yasa Teladan who was elected at the city level, will represent the provincial level and continue at the national level.
"The purpose of Abdi Yasa Teladan is to provide insight to drivers. Good public transport drivers, including city buses, taxis, tourist transport. We do it every year, and hopefully they pass it on to their friends," Irvan said.
The selection of Abdi Yasa Teladan was followed by 75 drivers. They consist of 23 taxi drivers, 30 microbus drivers, 15 city bus drivers, three freight transport drivers, as well as four tourism transport drivers.
"Driver friends are a very important stakeholder at the cutting edge of public transport and road safety services. They are gradually expected to transmit this knowledge to their friends," said Irvan.
