Reality Club Celebrates Halloween Through Horror Version Of 'Desire' Song

JAKARTA - In order to celebrate Halloween which falls today, Thursday, October 31, the Reality Club re-released the song Desire into a horror version with the title "Desirre (Horor Version)".

The 'Desire' itself is material from the fifth album Reality Club Presents... which was released on May 26, 2023.

This horror version is not a remix or rework, but an alternative arrangement of strings sections performed by Chicha Adzhari and performed and recorded by Budapest Scoring Orchestra. This collaborator is also known for his work in other Reality Club songs on the third album, such as Dancing In The Breeze Alone, Desire, and Love Epiphany.

"This horror version has different string arrangements from the version released on the album," said Faiz (vocals, guitars) as songwriters, in a statement, Thursday.

"Desire, which was supposed to be a song with thriller nuances, turned out to be more similar to the soundtrack of a horror film. This version feels more scary and intense," he continued.

What makes 'Desiror Version' is quite interesting, said Faiz, this version is actually the first draft, but unfortunately when worked on it it doesn't sound according to the reality club's vision at first.

"We wanted this song to be a thrilling song and looked badass, but we still liked this version and wanted to save it for release one day. That day it turned out to be right on Halloween this year," said Faiz.

In addition to being heard on digital music platforms, animated music videos are also presented for this horror version, directed and edited by Arya Satriaputra and will be broadcast on the official Reality Club YouTube channel.

With the intention to add a touch of horror to the song, Arya was inspired by the video game he played several years ago.

The main reference is a DLC (downloadable content) from Red Dead Redemption entitled Red Dead Undead Nightmare. I used to play it on XBOX 360, and as soon as I listened to the horror version of 'Desire', the game immediately imagined in my mind, "said Arya.

"In addition, I also took several other references from B-Movie slasher films by adding some granine and 'demage film' effects," he said.
