Upset, Wife In Alor NTT Burns Husband Because Of Online Gambling
Alor Police, Polda NTT stated that a wife with the initials HH (35) in Kalabahi City, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province who burned her husband Mario Agustinus Wendo due to online gambling or online threatened 12 years in prison.
"The alleged perpetrator will be charged with articles 187 1e and 2e of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison," said Deputy Chief of Police Alor Kompol Jamaludin as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 31.
The Deputy Chief of Police explained that the actions taken by HH were triggered by financial problems experienced by the family.
The alleged perpetrator, said the Deputy Chief of Police, admitted that he was annoyed with her husband because there was no open financial problem. So that finally the alleged perpetrator found evidence of the account used by the victim to play online gambling.
In a chronological presentation of the incident, the Deputy Chief of Police explained that initially the alleged perpetrator HH (35) took a pickup from Lantoka to Kalabahi. Arriving at the Kalabahi prison housing intersection, the alleged perpetrator got off and waited for the motorcycle taxi. While waiting, the alleged perpetrator saw the gasoline seller and the intention arose to burn her husband.
The alleged perpetrator then found two empty bottled water bottles measuring 1.5 liters around the place of waiting and putting them in his bag.
After receiving the motorcycle taxi, the alleged perpetrator bought four bottles of pertalite fuel at the T-junction to his father-in-law's house, where the house was also inhabited by the alleged perpetrator and her husband.
Arriving at the location, the suspect checked her husband's whereabouts by looking at the sandals in front of the house. After confirming that her husband was in the room, the suspect then locked the room from outside using a lock.
"The suspect then poured gasoline at the victim who was sleeping, on the wall of the room made of plywood, and on the window of the bedroom door before burning it," added the Deputy Chief of Police.
As a result of her actions, her husband had to be rushed to the hospital and treated. intensively due to serious burns.
"The victim suffered serious burns of up to 80 percent and is currently undergoing intensive care at the Kalabahi Hospital," explained the Deputy Chief of Police.
In addition to causing casualties, the alleged perpetrator's actions also detailed the material losses caused in the incident, including three housing units with details of 2 houses completely scorched and 1 house unit burned down the front (doors and windows).

"The suspect HH is currently being detained in the Alor Police Criminal Investigation Unit room for further investigation. For victims, investigations cannot be carried out because they are still under medical treatment," he explained.
