Again, Juventus Almost Lost Before Drawing Against Parma, Thiago Motta: Team Made Many Mistakes

JAKARTA - Juventus, again, almost lost before drawing 2-2 against Parma in the Italian Serie A match at the Allianz Stadium, Thursday, October 3, 2024 early morning WIB. Coach Thiago Motta admitted that the team made many mistakes in the match.

Juve failed to win again. Despite setting a record as the only team that has never lost, Juve has drawn too often.

As a result, Juve's position continues to decline. Before hosting Parma, Thiago Motta's team was still in the top three. Now, Juve has dropped in ranking after being shifted by Atalanta who won 2-0 over Monza. Juve itself is in fourth position with 18 points.

The draw was clearly disappointed because Juve played at home. However, Dusan Vlahovic et al made mistakes for the second time in a row even though they finally recovered so they avoided defeat.

In the previous match against Inter Milan, they were behind 4-2 before being saved by young star Kenan Yildiz who scored a brace and closed the match with a score of 4-4.

When playing at home, Juve also conceded two goals first. Luckily, Timothy Weah saved the Bianconeri from defeat against Parma.

While Juve had to drop in ranking, Parma on the other hand managed to improve their position. They moved away from the relegation zone and are now in 14th position with nine points. There are three teams that have the same points as Parma, including Como 1907. However, Como has a better goal difference so they are in 13th position.

Juve almost lost for the second time, making Motta disappointed. According to him, the players made many mistakes and let the opponent develop the game.

"We let Parma develop. We did create many chances, but we shouldn't have let them create chances when counterattacking. We have to improve ourselves so that there is balance in our game," said Motta as quoted by Football Italia.

"We also made many mistakes. The opponent shouldn't have counterattacked every time we made a mistake or lost the ball. Moreover, Parma has wingers who only need to wait to destroy us," he said again.

In that match, Juve, who were playing at home, had taken the initiative to attack. However, they actually conceded a goal first when the match had only been going on for three minutes.

Parma took full advantage of La Vecchia Signora's defenders' carelessness in the early minutes of the match. Starting from a corner kick, midfielder Adrian Bernabe then released a cross towards Juve's goal which was continued by Botond Balogh. The ball was then met with a header from defender Enrico Delprato which beat goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.

Juve tried to rise and almost equalized the score in the 13th minute. Only Japanese national team goalkeeper Zion Suzuki managed to make a brilliant save. Suzuki started by making a save from Weston McKennie's header. Only the ball then rebounded which was then pounced on by Vlahovic. Once again, Suzuki managed to push it away and the ball soared over the crossbar.

After failing repeatedly, McKennie finally did not repeat his mistake in the 31st minute. This time his header failed to be saved by Suzuki which changed the score to 1-1.

McKennie's goal was expected to raise the motivation of Juve players to put pressure on their opponents. Instead, Di Gregorio's goal was conceded again.

This time, it was midfielder Simon Sohm who brought Parma back ahead in the 38th minute. It started with Dennis Man receiving a long pass and then passing it to Sohm. He managed to get the ball past the goalkeeper before scoring. The score changed to 2-1 for Parma and remained that way until the first half ended.

In the second half, Juve tried to rise and put pressure on Parma. The home team's attacking play ultimately made it difficult for Fabio Pecchia's team to develop their game. Their counterattacks were also anticipated by Juve's defense.

As a result, Juve were able to score a goal when the match had only been going on for four minutes. Winger Khephren Thuram saved Juve through good cooperation with Francisco Conceicao.

It started with a pass from Thuram to Conceicao who then returned it to Thuram via a cross. The opportunity was greeted with a volley from close range that beat goalkeeper Suzuki.

The score changed to 2-2. Juve and Parma actually continued to attack each other to win the match. Gabriel Charpentier had a good opportunity which was thwarted by Di Gregorio.

Next, Juve had the opportunity to score a goal through Yildiz. However, the Turkish national team player's efforts were thwarted by Delprato. The draw lasted until the match ended.
