Valencia's Match In The Copa Del Rey Postponed Due To Deadly Flash Flood

JAKARTA - Valencia asked to postpone the Copa del Rey match on November 7, 2024 against Parla Escuela.

The request through the official letter was received by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, local time.

The delay was related to flash floods that hit the Valencia area on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

So far, 51 people have died as a result of the flood.

Therefore, local authorities advise against taking non-essential travel.

Spanish weather agency AEMET also announced a red warning in eastern Valencia yesterday when firefighters rescued people trapped in floods due to Hurricane Dana.

"The club considers that (the postponement) is the most appropriate measure given the serious consequences of the Hurricane Dana that we experienced in Valencia Province," La Liga wrote in X.

The RFEF shared a statement on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, confirming that the match had been postponed.

However, it is not clear what will happen to Valencia's match against Real Madrid this weekend, November 3, 2024, WIB.

Valencia is scheduled to host Real Madrid at the Estadio Mestal in the 12th week of La Liga 2024/2025.
