Afgan's Way Of Overcoming Nervous Feelings Before Appearing On Stage
JAKARTA - Afgansyah Reza, better known as the mononimous Afgan, has been in the music industry for more than 16 years. During that time, countless stages were visited to sing.
However, the 35-year-old singer admitted that she was still often nervous before appearing on stage.
Therefore, the singer of Thank you has a special 'ritual' that must be done before appearing on stage.
"Still (stupid). I'm a ritual, especially more to really warm up (heating) vocals with my body, so I'm more relaxed," Afgan said in Senayan, Central Jakarta, recently.
According to him, ensuring that vocals are in maximum condition on stage is the best way to get rid of nervousness.
"There is a warm-up technique that must be all singers doing. That's the most important thing. Because when I feel comfortable on the vocals, God willing, on stage it can be more relaxed," he said.

It doesn't stop there, Afgan also has a taboo to maintain his vocal condition before going on stage. He doesn't want to consume food and drinks that can disrupt his vocal condition.
"It's like fried like that, coffee, no. Usually, before singing, I don't eat it," said Afgan.
"I avoid being like that, because instead of being on stage I feel uncomfortable," he added.
However, Afgan also revealed that his main riders when performing were food, drinks, and snacks. Not intended for himself, Afgan asked the riders for the needs of the team and crew who helped him.
"There must be riders, it's just that my riders are not complicated, at least just snacks, then there's pizza, there's cup noodles," said Afgan.
"Because the riders are not for me, but for the team. There is a team of musicians waiting for the backstage, there is also a crew," he said.
