Enzo Maresca: Chelsea Not Press On Finishing In The Top Four Of The Premier League
JAKARTA - Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said he was under no pressure from club officials to secure Champions League qualifiers (the last four of the Premier League) this first season.
Since replacing Mauricio Pochettino, Maresca's team have lost three games in all competitions and are fifth in the 2024/2025 Premier League.
"The club never mentioned to me about the top four. They always told me that the target was to build something important for the next four or five years," Maresca said in a press conference on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
Maresca further revealed that the absence of pressure made the team's changing room situation more solid.

Players are comfortable playing games after matches and focus on winning every game they face.
"What is certain is that we work every day to achieve something important. Pressure, on the players? To be honest, I don't think so."
"If you're going through a game after game, you can see for yourself where you were at that time."
"If you start thinking about the top four or six, you think about June (2025), for me it's too far," said the Italian manager.
Nearby, Chelsea will face Newcastle United in the Fourth Round of the Carabao Cup 2024/2025, Thursday, October 31, 2024, early morning WIB.
The Blues had no new injury problems before the match. Maresca said that the Wesley defender Fofana, who suffered a clash against Newcastle in the ninth week of the Premier League, October 27, 2024, was fit to play.
Chelsea are also in a good trend against Newcastle which has just been faced. In last weekend's match at Stamford Bridge, the Blues won 2-1.
In addition, Chelsea is also in high motivation to catch the Carabao Cup trophy. They are still curious because last season they lost in the final against Liverpool while still being carpentry by Pochettino.
