Promise To Install Free Wi-Fi At The Jakarta Mosque, Pramono Anung: Not Something Expensive

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung plans to install a free Wi-Fi network at Jakarta mosques. This is based on the request of a number of youths who had a dialogue with Pramono.

"Young people whose mosques are managed by them, they need space to gather places to organize and require Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is now not something expensive," said Pramono in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Wednesday, October 30.

According to Pramono, the installation of Wi-Fi in mosques and other public spaces can be realized through the DKI Jakarta regional budget allocation (APBD).

This is because Pramono admitted that he had reviewed the regional budget in Jakarta for his programs, such as running free breakfast at school.

"I am sure that for Wi-Fi the need for funds is small. Compared to eating free breakfast, it must be much higher for breakfast," explained Pramono.

Previously, Pramono also expressed his desire that all RTs and RWs in Jakarta have surveillance cameras (CCTV) in order to reduce the level of vulnerability and crime.

"It turns out that not all RT/RWs have CCTV. If we are given the mandate to lead Jakarta, all RT/RWs in Jakarta must have CCTV. This is to reduce the level of vulnerability as well as crime, bullying, and so on," said Pramono some time ago.

Referring to the results of a 2017 study, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government ideally requires CCTV as many as 70 thousand points.

Until the middle of 2024, CCTV services by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government were realized at 747 points. The distribution is, Central Jakarta as many as 180 points, West Jakarta 160 points, North Jakarta 75 points, East Jakarta 160 points, and South Jakarta as many as 172 points.

In addition to discussing CCTV, Pramono also highlighted the operational costs of RT and RW. He wants to double the operational costs for RT to Rp. 4 million from the original Rp. 2 million while RW to Rp. 5 million from the original Rp. 2.5 million per month.

"This is not too much. Our RT is around the current 30,900, RW 2,700. RT/RW is the spearhead," said Pramono.
