Unbroken Charity Even Though Someone Has Died
YOGYAKARTA - Charity that is not cut off even though someone has died, namely charity. In Islam, human deeds while in the world will stop their rewards after he dies.
All assets of wealth, position, rank, children, wives, and world affairs will be abandoned. However, Muslims have the belief that there is a practice whose reward will continue to flow even though the person has died.
This is in accordance with what was explained by the Prophet SAW in the history of hadiths quoted from the Syarah book Riyadhus Shalihin Volume 3 by Imam Nawawi. From Abu Hurairah RA, he said, Rasulullah SAW said,
"If Adam's child (human) has died, then his deeds will be cut off except for three cases, namely Jariyah alms, useful knowledge, or pious children who pray for him." (HR Muslim)
Well, from the hadith, Rasulullah SAW said that there were three practices that made a person's reward continue to flow even though he had died. Quoted from the book Al-Qur'an Hadith Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Class VI by Fida' Abdilah & Yusak Burhanudin, here is the explanation of the hadith.
Alms of Jariyah are alms that can benefit many people. Therefore, the reward of alms of Jariyah will not be cut off even if someone who gives alms has died.
As long as the recipients continue to use the alms, the reward of Jariyah alms will continue to flow. Examples of Jariyah alms, namely establishing places of worship, donated land, digging water sources that are used for the benefit of the community, and so on.

Alms also do not have to be in the form of property, but it can also be in the form of an act or effort. This is in accordance with what is stated in the Qur'an surah Az-Zalzalah verse 7, Allah SWT will reward the slightest charity person.
"Whoever does the same thing as dzarrah, surely he will see his reply."
Even though parents who are prayed for have passed away, prayers from pious children will continue to flow their rewards. pious children are children who are always devoted, follow parents' advice, are on the path of Allah, and always pray for goodness for their parents. This is of course because of the role of parents in providing children's education.
For a child, serving parents should always be done after they die. Service to parents after death can be done by praying for him, undergoing his wills, and strengthening their relationship with relatives.
Useful knowledge including practice will not lose its reward even if someone has died. Because, this knowledge will invite benefits, both for yourself or for others who bring goodness and benefit.
For example, useful knowledge, can be illustrated like a writer who produces writing or books and then benefits many people. As long as the book is read, used for learning, and used by others, the author of the book will receive an unbroken finger reward.
