The Issue Of Federation Dualism Begins To Be Discussed By The Ministry Of Youth And Sports

The issue of dualism in the body of several sports federations in Indonesia has begun to be discussed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (Wamenpora), Taufik Hidayat, hopes that the problem that has a bad effect on athletes will be resolved in the near future.

"It is still being discussed by the Minister (Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo). (Federation) must be called (because) sorry (with) the athletes," said Taufik at the Menpora Canton, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

At this time there are four federations that are in the middle of dualism. They are the sport of table tennis, kempo, fencing, and mixed combat.

Dito some time ago emphasized that he would immediately solve this issue. One of them is table tennis by forming a new federation as a middle ground.

"Later, a new organization will be created that has been approved by the two federations," said Dito Ariotedjo at the Kemenpora Office, Senayan, Jakarta on October 18, 2024.

Dualism in the management of the Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) has been sticking out to the surface since 2011 or more than a decade. This issue has had a negative impact on the development of table tennis athletes.

The two camps are the PTMSI Executive Board led by General Chair Peter Laydi Lay and the PTMSI Central Management which is now controlled by Oegroseno.

In addition to the impact of coaching, this problem made the table tennis sport absent in two editions of the SEA Games, namely in 2019 and 2021. The sport then returned to appear at the 2023 SEA Games.

Meanwhile, the dualism that occurred in the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Budget Association (PB IKASI) involved the leadership of Agus Suparmanto and Amir Yanto's leadership. Regarding this budget, the plan is to hold a National Conference (Munas) to complete it.

Furthermore, the issue of dualism in the Indonesian Kempo Federation (FKI) involves the leadership of Yasona Laoly who is a member of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) with the Executive Board of the Indonesian Kempo Brotherhood (PB Perkemi) led by Agus Setiadi who is a member of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).

The last one is mixed combat. This sport has two bodies, namely Indonesia Beladiri Mixed Amateur Mix Martial Art (IBCA MMA) led by Young Marshal I Made Susila Adnyana who is a member of KONI and the Central Executive of the Mixed Fighting Sports Association (PP Pertambami) led by Tommy Paulus Hermawan who is a member of KOI.
