The sky and Tidar Valley are silent witnesses to Prabowo Subianto's leadership
JAKARTA - Each leader has the characteristics and style of leading. There is no difference with a head of state in leading a pluralistic country like Indonesia. Remember the style of the seventh President Joko Widodo when he first led who wanted to always merge and show his willingness towards the Indonesian people.
The man who is usually called Jokowi often wears white shirts and black pants. Jokowi's simplicity at the beginning certainly wanted to be followed by his assistants. Remember the style of climbing the fence of Jokowi's assistant? Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri climbed the fence during a sudden inspection of a labor deployment company. Although some people think that Hanif Dhabiri's style of jumping over the fence is excessive, not a few praise it. But over time, only 1-2 ministers defended this before it finally disappeared without marks.
The eighth president Prabowo Subianto started his cabinet work with an embezzlement in the Tidar Valley, Magelang, Central Java. The Tidar Valley is a place for the chivalrous of the Military Academy, located at the foot of Mount Tidar. One of the most popular origins of the name 'Tidar' is from the meaning of 'Mukti and Kadadar'. Mukti means happiness, rank, and success in life, while Kadadar means being educated, forged, and tested.
This place is known as the crater of Candradimuka, where the nation's patriots were forged. The Tidar Valley is the location where Great General Sudirman examines troops, the birthplace of Revolutionary Heroes General Ahmad Yani, and witnesses to the birth of the nation's leaders: General Retired. Edi Sudrajat (who served as Army Chief of Staff, Pangab, and Defense at the same time), General Retired. Faisal Tanjung, General Purn. Wiranto (Pangab and Defense Minister), as well as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and President Prabowo Subianto.

The spirit of patriotism, discipline, and cohesiveness is expected to be the basis for cabinet members in their work serving the people. Indeed, there is no guarantee that all of President Prabowo's assistants who were trained for the past two days will absorb this spirit. But at least as the country's supreme leader, Prabowo Subianto has shown his attitude as a leader and has provided examples with concrete actions.
Actions Leading By Providing Examples
Prabowo Subianto's amazing action in the Tidar Valley is not the first time for Indonesia. Twenty-seven years ago, on Monday (28/4/1997) all cadets were asked to gather at the Sapta Marga Field, the Military Academy Complex, Tidar Magelang. The cadets are scheduled to receive leadership lectures from the Danjen Kopassus Major General TNI Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo.
This is certainly not an ordinary thing, and it is the subject of questions between cadets. The reason is that every leadership lecture is always given inside the Lily Rochli Building. But not that day, after the cadets gathered, they saw spectacular performances. General Prabowo's 'Lead by example' did not start with words, but with the action: 'Lead by example'.
The Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, who at that time was still in the wrong rank, said that Prabowo Subianto and his troops entered the Sapta Marga Field area by air. "General Prabowo and his troops entered the Military Academy by air. He jumped out of the plane, then went free fall, and landed at the Sapta Marga field, Military Academy," he wrote on his Instagram account.
He continued, without a single broken word, Prabowo was "friendly" how the leader had to dare to do quick to see (fast to observe), quick to decide (fast to decide), and quick to take action (fast to take action). And most importantly, Prabowo showed that a leader must be brave.
"Seeing him land and fold his plunging umbrella, the cadets were burning with enthusiasm. General Prabowo was hailed by the cadets. They shouted as they clenched their hands: 'Commando.. command.. command'," wrote Iftitah.
A similar assessment was conveyed by the president's envoy, Raffi Ahmad. According to Raffi, everything that happened during the retreat was very memorable. The most memorable thing is that everything is done together. Not only that, the husband of Nagita said that Prabowo Subianto's aura when he was leading was very firm.
"But after that Pak Prabowo can become a father for all of us, can become friends and laugh with him," said Raffi to VOI, Monday, October 28.
Ministers And Deputy Ministers Should Not Be Lazy!
Political observer from Al Azhar University, Ujang Komaruddin, assessed that the briefing of ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Military Academy (Akmil), Magelang, was an event to forge the mentality of state officials who were just inaugurated earlier this week.
Ujang when contacted in Jakarta, Friday, explained that the mentality of the state officials was again forged to be resilient considering the tough task waiting for them as assistants to President Prabowo Subianto.
"Mentality of the ministers, the deputy minister is educated that his mentality must be strong and tough, because they have all been asked by the President for their commitment to work 24 hours hard for the benefit of the people," said Ujang Komaruddin.
He continued that mental processing was one of three targets that he believed were accepted by ministers in a series of briefings in Akmil, Magelang, Central Java, on October 25, 2024. The other two targets included mental and physical processing.
"In the process category, all participants are trained to think systematically, rationally, and people-based," he said.
Then, for physical processing, Ujang said that ministers and other debriefing participants must also be physically strong. Therefore, the rows training is important because it is not only to equalize the frequencies of fellow participants, but also to the physical so that their bodies are healthy.
A minister, a deputy minister, should not be sick, because if they are sick they cannot work. A minister must also not be lazy or work arbitrarily, because they are sworn to work for the benefit of the people," said Ujang.
