In The Aftermath Of Bill Gates' Visit, Da Nang City Rushes To Prepare Tea Meditation Tourism
JAKARTA - Da Nang City, Vietnam plans to launch a tea meditation tour at the summit of Mount Ban Co. This new tour was inspired by the American billionaire, Bill Gates, who learned how to make tea in March 2024.
Managed by the Son Tra Peninsula Management Agency and Da Nang Tourism Beach, assigned to make the tour. From this tour, visitors will study the art of making and enjoying traditional tea under the guidance of a master who has the experience of serving tea.
Apart from enjoying tea, visitors can also see rare red-legged douc tutungs. In addition, they enjoy the view of the city from the top of the mountain. Standing 700 meters above sea level, Mount Ban Co is the highest point on the Son Tra Peninsula.

Hoang Anh Suong has more than 20 years of experience in organizing tea meditation for famous figures.
He admitted that he was surprised when he saw the simplicity of Bill Gates and Paula Hurd. According to him, the couple showed great interest in Vietnam's traditional tea culture.
They seem impressed with the distinctive taste of Tan Cuong tea brewed using the lotus flower. Paula Hurd even joked that drinking tea at the top of Ban Co made them feel like kings and queens.
"You and I are now kings and queens because you can drink very valuable tea," said Soung.
Soung said Bill Gates enjoyed the meditation process, which helped him feel calm in the midst of a mountain natural atmosphere.
Vietnam's tea culture has a strong roots in history and this country is considered the birthplace of world tea culture together with China and Japan.
This area is home to the vast old tea gardens in the provinces of Ha Giang, Son La, Yen Bai, and Lai Chau, with several tea bushes aged 500-600 years.
