Hostage Taker At Pasar Minggu Police Post Is Heartbroken After Not Being Given Loan Money By Victim's Parents
JAKARTA - The motive for the kidnapping of a little girl in the Cakung area that ended with her being held hostage at the Pejaten Police Post, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta on Monday, October 28, was a grudge between the perpetrator with the initials IJ and the victim's parents.
The perpetrator had a grudge because the victim's parents did not lend him money. However, the police are still investigating the perpetrator's statement.
"(The kidnapping) was for an exchange transaction. So if they didn't give him money, then he would hurt his child. That was the method used by the perpetrator IJ against the victim Z (5)," said the East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to VOI, Tuesday, October 29.
The results of the preliminary investigation, the victim's parents and the perpetrator knew each other. However, when a urine test was conducted, the perpetrator tested positive for narcotics in the form of crystal methamphetamine.
"The parents knew each other. So the victim and IJ had known each other, because they had met their mother several times at the crime scene (the victim's mother's house)," he said.
Due to his actions, the perpetrator with the initials IJ was charged with multiple articles, namely Article 76c of Law No. 35 of 2014 in conjunction with Article 76e of the Law on Child Protection. And or Article 328 of the Criminal Code related to kidnapping.
"The perpetrator is threatened with a sentence of 15 years in prison," he said.
