Sung Pui Man's long experience in establishing this company began in the era of President Suharto's administration. Although there are several factories across the country, supply scarcity is a challenge, and this is where Sung sees many opportunities.
As a foreigner in a country he just entered, he had to spend a lot of money to start, especially because at that time Indonesia had not opened up to foreign investment. This forced him to borrow the names of local residents to get the necessary permits to build factories.
In the 1980s, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Korea dominated the global textile and garment supply chain, making it difficult for Indonesian-based companies to enter the European and American markets. However, after going through the early stages of its capital-constrained business, Sung began directing his company to list shares in the stock market in 1992.
