Suswono Proposed That Janda Kaya Marry An Unemployed Youth, Rano Karno Was Surprised

JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor number 3 Rano Karno responded to the statement of Deputy Governor candidate number 1 Suswono who proposed that the wealthy widow marry a young man who is not working or has an unemployed status.

Rano assessed that Suswono could not make this statement seriously. The former actor of the soap opera Si Doel Anak Sekolahan considers it a joke.

"Oh, if I'm sure he might be joking. We know how Mr. Suswono is. Maybe joking. Not such a serious forum," said Rano when met in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, Sunday, October 27.

When he learned that Suswono made the statement, Rano admitted that he was surprised. However, not long after Rano realized it was impossible to be interpreted seriously.

"Even though to be honest, I also read a bit surprised too. But this must be a joke. It's impossible. We know him. What his name is. Maybe it means knowing about history. So I think of it, maybe it's just a joke," said Rano.

For information, the statement was made by Suswono during a volunteer declaration at the Nyi Ageng Serang Building, South Jakarta, Saturday, October 26.

Initially, Suswono revealed that he and the candidate for Governor of Jakarta Ridwan Kamil would continue the social assistance program in the form of cards that have been run by the DKI Provincial Government.

Not only that, Suswono also promised additional programs.banguan, namely cards for orphans and widows.

"One, the addition is an orphanage card. Be an orphan. Remember, pay attention, orphans will become governor's children. Mothers don't, this is GR, ma'am. Don't assume later that the widow is married to the governor," explained Suswono.

However, Suswono emphasized that this aid card was only intended for residents with lower or poor economic groups. While joking, Suswono also proposed that rich widows who did not enter as recipients of aid actually help by marrying unemployed youths.

"Is there a widow card or not? I make sure that there must be a poor widow. But when a rich widow asks for a card too? I suggest a rich widow please marry an unemployed young man," said Suswono.

Hal seperti ini, menurut dia, pernah dilakukan oleh istri pertama Nabi Muhammad, Khadijah binti Khuwailid.

"Do you remember Khadijah? You know Khadijah, right? He's a conglomerate. Who is married? Yes, Prophet. At that time he was not a Prophet. It was still 25 years old, right? Well, that's an example of being rich," he added.
