Spain Calls For The Importance Of Self-restriction After Israel Attacks Iran

JAKARTA - After Israel's airstrikes against Iran on Saturday evening, October 26, Spain urged all parties to refrain from preventing further escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

"Only diplomatic solutions can restore stability in this region," said a statement by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, October 27.

In addition to calling on all parties to stop violence, Spain also demanded a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, assistance to deal with humanitarian disasters, the release of all hostages, and compliance with international law.

"Spain is committed to restoring stability in order to pave the way for peace and will continue to work towards this goal with our partners," the statement concluded.

On Monday 28 October, Spain will host foreign ministers from various countries in the Regional Forum for the Mediterranean Union to discuss the conflict.
