Jayapura Regency Government Prepares Six Villages To Become The Best Tourism Villages In 2025

JAKARTA - The Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab), Papua, through the Culture and Tourism Office has prepared six villages to become the best tourist villages in 2025.

The villages or villages prepared are Kampung Abar, Asei, Yoboi for the construction area I, while the construction areas II are Amai Village, Tablanusi, and Tablasupa.

Acting Head (Plt) Head of the Jayapura Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Benjamin Yarisetouw, in Sentani, Saturday, October 26, 2024, said that Rhepang Muaif Village had entered 50 of the best tourist villages in 2024.

"This basis is the basis for us to encourage the other six villages to be included in the 50 best tourist villages in 2025," he said.

According to Benjamin, coaching and of course support will be given to the six villages so that the village community will know what to do.

"We will start with the potential in the village, that is what will be strengthened so that people in work can focus," he said as quoted by Antara.

He explained that Kampung Abar, Asei, and Yoboi have their respective potentials and they are ancestral cultural heritages.

"Kampung Abar has the potential for tourism as well as culture, namely making pottery from clay and the ability to only exist in the people of Abar. Meanwhile, Yoboi and Asei have the uniqueness of painting on wood skin and natural tourism sago trees," said Benjamin again.

He added that while Amai, Tablanusi, and Tablasupa villages are located in the coastal area of Tanah Merah Bay, which is famous for its maritime potential, beach tourism, and forests.

"Of course the support given is in accordance with the potential of each proposed village so that the local community can benefit from the increasing number of tourists visiting," he said.
