Karimun Police Investigate The Discovery Of A Bag Containing 9 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine On The Coast

Karimun Police Chief AKBP Robby Topan Manusiwa held a meeting with the Commander of Kodim 0317 Karimun Lt. Col. Inf. Ida Bagus Putu Mudita regarding the delegation of the case of finding a bag containing 9 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine for an investigation to reveal the owner of the prohibited goods.

The black bag containing 9,343 grams of crystal methamphetamine was found by a fisherman on the Coast of Teljuk Island, Meral District, who was later reported to members of the Village Development Officer (Babinsa) of Karimun Regency.

"We are grateful to Kodim 0317 Karimun and the ranks who have supported joint efforts to fight drug trafficking," Robby said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

The police chief explained that the crystal methamphetamine stored in the no-man's bag was wrapped in nine packages of overall heavy yellow plastic reaching more than 9 kilograms.

The bag was found by an elderly person named Kim Yu (65) on Wednesday (23/10). At that time at around 11.00 WIB, Kim Yu was about to go to sea looking for ketam using a canoe.

Arriving at the Teljuk Island Coast, Pasir Panjang Village, West Meral District, Kim Yu found a black bag.

The bag was then taken to his house and informed his son and colleagues of the discovery of the bag.

Because the bag was suspicious, Kim Yu's colleague then contacted a member of Babinsa, Pasir Panjang Village, Serka Sarmo.

Receiving the report, Serka Sarmo and his colleague Kopda Al Hafit, a member of Babinsa Harjosari Village, Koramil 04, arrived at Kim Yu's house and immediately checked a bag suspected of containing methamphetamine which was packaged in nine plastic packages.

Thetas was then taken to the 0317 Kodim Tanjung Balai Karimun for safekeeping. In the evening, at 22.00 WIB, Pasi Intel Kodim 0317 together with the Karimun Police Narcotics Head and BNNK Karimun checked the contents of the bag.

"From the results of the examination, it was confirmed that the bag containing methamphetamine was weighing 9,343 grams after the balance was carried out," said the Police Chief.
