Israel's Air Attack On Al-S Stormless School Gaza Kills 17 People
JAKARTA - Israel's airstrike against schools in central Gaza killed 17 people and injured 42 others.
As reported by CNN, Thursday, October 24, Al-Awda hospital officials said most of the victims in the attack on Al-S Schooliesada in the Nuseirat refugee camp were children and Palestinian elderly citizens.
Secretary of Defense of the United States (US) Lloyd Austin previously said Israel's failure to protect civilians in Gaza could cause adverse reactions from generation to generation and create more anti-Israeli rebels in the future.
Austin said he expressed the need to address the humanitarian needs of civilians in every phone call with his Israeli partner, Yoav Gallant.
He stressed Israel's obligation to be more precise in carrying out military operations against Palestinian militant groups Hamas to limit civilian casualties.
Austin also stressed the need to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians.
"Failure doing this will create a Palestinian generation who will continue to reject cooperation with Israel in the future. So, you actually increase the number of rebels if you fail to do so," Austin said.
"In my opinion, this is a strategic necessity," he continued as quoted by Reuters, Wednesday, October 23.
