3 Penufflers For Cooperative Funds Of Rp. 250 Million In Payakumbuh, West Sumatra Arrested, Claiming To Be Underpaid
PAYAKUMBUH - Payakumbuh Police, West Sumatra arrested three suspects of embezzling funds from the Sutra Ketinggian Sarilamak Cooperative (KSU), Limapuluh Kota Regency. The money that was collected was worth Rp. 250 million.
Kasat Reskrim Payakumbuh Police AKP Aknopilindo in Payakumbuh said the arrests of the three suspected embezzlement suspects originated with the report of the cooperative leadership's complaint.
"Based on the complaint report, we immediately conducted an investigation into the whereabouts of the suspect known to be in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province and our personnel immediately followed up on it," said Aknop accompanied by Head of Resum Ipda Aiga Putra, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 6.
The three suspects embezzled funds when the suspect was still working at KSU Sutra Ketinggian Sarilamak which has a cash office in Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh, with a total loss of IDR 250 million. The cash office itself has been disabled or closed since 2020.
Two suspects with the initials F (25) and NWP (22) were arrested in Pekanbaru. Two bundles of folders containing proof of transactions were also confiscated while the suspect worked at KSU Sutra Ketinggian Sarilamak.
Meanwhile, one other suspect was arrested on Wednesday, March 31 in Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh District, Payakumbuh City. The evidence that was secured from the suspect was in the form of a bundle of proof of transaction folders while working at the cooperative.
"We are still developing. From what the suspect has done, he will be charged under articles 372 and 374 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of four years in prison," he said.
The suspect's confession, NWP (22) said that he had worked at the cooperative from 2017 to the end of March 2019 and had committed this act since 2018.
"So I took money by manipulating customer retrieval data, for example a customer took one million, I took two million, but in the customer's book it was written according to the customer's withdrawal," he said.
The suspect admitted that he had collected money from the cooperative to meet his daily needs because the salary he received was Rp1,800,000 which was not sufficient.
