JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya hosted PSM Makassar in the ninth week of Liga 1 2024/2025 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, WIB night.
Both teams had to settle for sharing one point after the game ended in the 1-1 draw. Yuran Fernandes scored first for PSM in the 16th minute before being equalized by Mohammed Rashid (45+4).
PSM took the lead after Ananda Raehan's free kick on the right side of the attack was successfully headed by Yuran Fernandes who was not guarded at the second post.
Left behind by one goal, Persebaya started to get out of pressure in the 20th minute. They began to create chances through Rashid's penalty box outer shot, but it was still narrowly wide.
Four minutes later, it was Francisco Rivera's turn to spread threats. His solo action broke through from the right side of the attack and ended with a strong kick. However, the effort still failed because the goalkeeper managed to deny it.
PSM does not remain silent. The visitors who take advantage of the counter-attack are able to press. The set-off ball scheme is a mainstay because they find it difficult to create opportunities from open play.

No wonder, they started the second half by directly pressing PSM. Rizky Dwi Pangestu got the opportunity to welcome the cross in front of goal, but his flick still bounced.
When the game had passed an hour, Persebaya was almost superior. Starting from Rivera's cross, Kasim Botan grabbed the ball. Unfortunately, the ball still hit the crossbar.
In 10 minutes of normal time remaining, Bajul Ijo again had a chance to take the lead. However, Flavio Silva's business, which has faced goalkeepers, failed to use the opportunity to become a goal. His shot went wide.
In fact, Persebaya's goal arrived in the 87th minute. However, the referee disallowed the goal because Flavio was in an offside position.
