Kia Announces Proceed To Leave The UK Market After 16 Years

JAKARTA - A car manufacturer from South Korea, Kia confirmed that the Proceed model had left the UK market after 16 years of travel.

They confirmed that the model had to be stopped selling because it got unexpressible results. According to the manufacturer, the Proceed model accounts for only a small part of the Ceed series in King Charles' country.

"Proceed's right-hand version only accounts for a relatively small proportion of Ceed's overall production and sales," Kia wrote as quoted by Autocar, Wednesday, October 23.

Other Ceed models in the form of hatchback and estate and Xceed will continue to be sold on the market by contributing 47 percent of the total sales of the series in the UK.

Although it has been announced that it will stop selling, Kia still provides Proceed units and can still be ordered by British customers to stock up.

"Proceed has become an important model for Kia in the compact family car segment, emphasizing Kia's strength in terms of quality, practicality, and attractive design," added Kia.

Proceeded has shown its existence in the market since 2008 which was positioned as the top variant of the Ceed family. In 2019, the brand presented it in a wagon version and became a challenger for the VW Golf Estate.

Since being turned into a shooting brake model in 2019, it has been reported that Proceeded's sales have been slow, selling just 10,000 units across the UK since or around 60,000 units less compared to total sales of Ceed and Xceed.

Kia Proceeded has a 1.5 TGDI ISG engine specification measuring up to 138 dk and a maximum torque of 253 Nm. Its performance is assisted by a six-speed manual transmission option and seven dual-clutch accelerations.

In the UK, this car is offered in two types, namely GT Line and GT-Line S at prices ranging from 26,855 32,315 pounds (Rp545.1 million to Rp656 million).
